Jennifer Fell

Jennifer (Jen) Fell, MA, BS, IBCLC is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant with extensive training in complex infant feeding difficulties. Her specialties include infants with diagnosed Neonatal Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), Hypotonia, Cleft Lip/Palate, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). She also provides comprehensive lactation assessments and feeding recommendations for all premature and term infants in her practice.

She received a Masters degree in Health and Wellness: Lactation Studies and a Bachelors of Science degree in Child Maternal Health and Human Lactation from Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She became an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2016 and has worked on a labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP) unit, and level II NICU since certification.

Due to her experience and clinical proficiency, she has served on a board of experts in the field of lactation for numerous public health events within Waukesha County. She delivers collaborative care with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure families receive evidence-based education and comprehensive clinical lactation support.

She is the curriculum developer of Neonatal Congenital Heart Disease and Human Milk: Evidence-Based Feeding Recommendations Clinical Procedures-A Guide and Educational Course for Healthcare Professionals. This course provides an overview of neonatal congenital heart disease; pre- and post-operative nutritional care plans; how to adequately conduct infant feeding assessments for vulnerable populations; implementation of exclusive human milk feeding policies; WHO/AAP/ABM protocols; and much more.

Further, she works as the prenatal lactation educator and postpartum breastfeeding support group leader as part of a community outreach program. She also developed a curriculum which focuses on the importance of infant nutrition in the first year of life. “Infant Nutrition in the First Year: Health Living Starts from the Very Beginning” is a course she currently offers to community members, public health workers, and nonprofit organizations in fulfillment of county health initiatives.

Jen believes all infants deserve the opportunity to breastfeed regardless of health complications, and all families deserve comprehensive lactation support to ensure they are able to meet their breastfeeding goals. Jen understands breastfeeding can be challenging for a variety of reasons, and would love the opportunity to support you and your growing family.
