Angela Hougas, MSW, LCSW, is a clinical social worker, providing counseling in the area since 2019. She graduated from UW-Green Bay with a major in Human Biology, and later went on to complete a masters program at George Williams College in clinical social work.

Her interest, education and experience in exercise, nutrition, community, spirituality, and in psychiatric nursing added to her view of people as complex and treatment of the whole person.

She has an interest in helping adults navigate through anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, tough life transitions, “stuck spots,” and relationship struggles. She believes that continuing personal growth is essential to “the good life,” and to satisfying relationships. She believes in the inherent worth and dignity of each person as equally; unique, valuable and having something wonderful to add to the world in increasing measure with growth and healing.

Special areas of interest are in understanding how often unrecognized personality/defense patterns impact relationships and helping clients grow in understanding the factors that drive thoughts, feelings and behavior. She uses a variety of techniques specific to client’s needs, including, Gottman couple therapy strategies, cognitive (thoughts) behavioral (actions) therapy, expressive therapy interventions, and personality typing tools, especially the Enneagram. She also offers faith-based counseling to those desiring a Biblically centered approach.

Angela specializes in meeting clients where they are, giving a compassionate and generous space to consider problems, identify goals and then learn and practice strategies for growth and change toward their full and beautiful potential!
